Tsomgo or Changu Lake is among the top destinations to visit in Sikkim. It is located at an elevation of 3,753 m (12,313 ft) and some 40 kilometres (25 mi) from the capital Gangtok. Gangtok is the capital of Sikkim.
Changu Lake is streatched over 1KM and 48 feet in legth. It is sacred lake and Hindu buddhist believes the lake is formed by the feet of Guru Padmasamvab the holy Guru of Buddhist. The place is breathtaking and make the feel of heaven.

Early morning breakfast - Drive to Siliguri, on the way to Bagdogra Airport (IXB) / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) - It is approximately 130 kilometers and 4 to 5 hours drive - The road will be bit busy and jam is frequent - The drive will be along the River Teesta - Stoppage at Rangpo / Chitrey or Melli for a cup of Tea is advisable - One stop at Coronation bridge if time permits - One will travel through the area of natural beauty - Rafting on the way is an optional (Most operators are not Registered with any Government wing hence try to avoid the same) - Drive to Bagdogra Airport (IXB) / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) /Siliguri - Guest are advised to start early and not to rush - Forwarding Journey

Foreigners must obtain Inner Line Permit (ILP) to visit Sikkim. These can be obtained from all Indian Missions, Sikkim Tourism Offices at New Delhi, Kolkata, District Magistrates Office of Darjeeling, Siliguri, and Rangpo on the strength of an Indian Visa. The 30 days duration Permit is issued on the spot without any delay provided photocopies of the passport and visa along with two pass port photos of the applicants are made available. The permissible duration of the stay for foreign tourists is 30 days initially.
The State Government is authorized to extend the same by a further period of 30 days. The extension of the permit can be obtained from FRO at Gangtok and office of Superintendent of Police of the North, West and South Districts.
For those interested in going for trekking in the interior region of the state, the Tourism and Civil Aviation issues Protected Area Permit (PAP) at Gangtok which is available for certain specified area for groups consisting of two or more foreigners subject to condition that the trekking programme is arranged through a registered travel agency.
